Grelle Forelle
Grelle Forelle is probably the most popular techno club in Vienna. Just outside the city centre, near Spittelau underground station, this club is located on the banks of the Danube Canal. Techno and house music by underground DJs from the national and international scene can also be heard here on Friday and Saturday evenings. Entry is usually from 21 years of age and mobile phone cameras must be taped at the entrance.
Volksgarten
As the name suggests, the ‘Volksgarten’ club is located in the Volksgarten. The party starts here on Thursday evenings. You can dance and party to house, disco and party hits from the age of 21 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The Volksgarten is one of the oldest clubs in the city; a dance café was established here after the Second World War. As in almost all clubs in the city centre, the door is strict and casual chic is the recommended dress code.

U4
The ‘U4’ is one of the most legendary underground clubs in Vienna. The Viennese have been partying here since the 80s and the club was once Falco's favourite club. It is open every night from Tuesday to Saturday for people aged 18 and over. The music ranges from charts to rock music, party hits from the 90s to Afrobeats, depending on the evening. The club is located outside the city centre, near the Meidlinger Hauptstraße underground station.
Das Werk
The Werk is much more than just a club - it is an art and culture initiative that offers space for events, studios, workshops and galleries. Every Friday and Saturday, the venue is transformed into a party location where national and international DJs and collectives thrill audiences with techno, drum and bass and trance music. There are two floors for partying from the age of 21, and smartphone cameras must be taped.

Flex
Flex has been located on the banks of the Danube Canal near Schottenring since the 90s. Casual parties with DJs and collectives from the techno, DnB and dub scene take place here on Friday and Saturday nights. The club is cheaper than other city centre clubs and has retained its underground vibe despite its popularity. Concerts by smaller international and national acts from a wide range of musical genres take place on many evenings during the week and at weekends. The Flex Cafe, which belongs to Flex, has sofas to relax on, another bar and a second dance floor for some events. In summer there is also a terrace to sit outside. Every Friday and Saturday, parties are held here by various, mostly local, collectives. The focus is on electronic sounds, but is of course dependent on the collective. There are also frequent parties during the week, especially university parties for students. Poetry slams, live podcasts, smaller concerts, open mic nights and acoustic concerts are also part of the loft's programme. Parties are held on up to 3 floors and the topic of ‘awareness’ is taken very seriously. There is an awareness team and there is a selection at the door based on sharing the club's values. It is therefore worth familiarising yourself with the club's concept in advance.
Praterdome
The Praterdome, near Vienna's Giant Ferris Wheel, is not only Vienna's, but Austria's largest disco. There are three floors with dance and bar areas, an exclusive bar area, a lounge area and a rooftop bar in summer. On the main floor you can dance to EDM, techno and house beats, on the second floor to hip-hop and RnB and on the Stadl or Classics Floor to classics, charts and pop. You can party here at most events from the age of 18.

Cabaret Fledermaus
The Cabaret Fledermaus can look back on a history of over a hundred years. For many years it was a cabaret stage for cabaret artists, before it was converted into a discotheque in the 1990s and is still successful as such. What makes this club special is its music selection, with a focus on the music of past decades. On different evenings there are various clubbing events, each with its own music theme. From the 50s to the 90s, everything is included. This also attracts a young-at-heart crowd, but young people also like coming to this club. There is something going on here every night except Tuesday and entry is usually free from 21:00 to 22:00.
Praterstrasse
